Guest FAQs

  1. How can I make my final payment?

    Final payment of the balance for the rental is required to be paid by personal check, cashier’s check, money order, or wire transfer. If by wire transfer, Guest will be responsible for all associated fees. If Guest prefers to pay final balance by credit card, a 3% processing fee will be applied to the total due.   2. When is my final payment due?

    All bookings in a condominium property require a $300 deposit at the time of booking and the remaining final payment is due 60 days prior to arrival. All bookings in a single family home require a 10% deposit at the time of booking and the remaining final payment is due 90 days prior to arrival.

  3. When can I check-in?

    Check-In starts at 4:00 PM. We try to accommodate early check-in requests to the best of our ability, however it is not guaranteed. We will call & text you as soon as your property is ready!

  4. Where do I check-in?

    Check-in at our main office in Palm Ridge Plaza located at 2330 Palm Ridge Road, Suite #12, Sanibel, FL 33957. This applies to all rental units whether you plan to arrive during normal business hours or after-hours and/or on Sundays.

  5. What will be in the property when I arrive?

    As a courtesy, you will be provided with a complimentary starter kit in your rental property prior to your arrival. We do not stock the units with perishable items such as foodstuffs or spices to avoid tampering, spoilage or possible allergic reactions between guests. Be sure to purchase any additional items you may need replenished during your stay!

  6. What’s Included in the starter kit?

    2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 2 small bars of soap per bathroom, 1 box of facial tissues, 1 roll of paper towels, 1 small bottle of liquid dish soap, 1 dish scrubber, 2 kitchen garbage can liners, 2 single-use packets of dishwasher detergent, & 2 single-use packets of laundry detergent.

  7. Is daily housekeeping included?

    This rental is your private residence until the end of your stay, so daily provisioning of shampoo, soap, fresh towels & maid services are not provided. Daily housekeeping is not included however additional cleanings can be arranged with us as needed with 24-48 hour notice for an additional fee.

  1. Do you allow pets?

    Dogs are accepted at some of our select pet-friendly properties. Certain restrictions may apply depending on each specific property. An additional pet fee of $400 per dog will be added to your reservation. Cats and other animals are prohibited from our properties.

  2. Do you have a minimum night stay?

    Condos typically rent for 7 nights from Saturday to Saturday however different condo associations have different rental parameters set for their desired minimum night stay required. Some condo complexes allow for as little as 3 or 4 night minimum or as much as 14 or 28 night minimum. Single family homes on Sanibel rent for a 28 night minimum per the City of Sanibel ordinance so our houses rent by each calendar month.   3. Can I add travel insurance to my reservation?

    Yes, travel insurance coverage with Generali Insurance is available for purchase through Sanibel Vacations on your rental reservation. Travel Insurance must be added and paid for by your final payment due date. The fee to add on the insurance policy coverage is 7.65% of the total booking amount of your vacation rental including all fees & taxes.

  4. Can I smoke at the property?

    All of our properties are non-smoking. Many condominium complexes are now entirely smoke-free and smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the property.

  5. Can I bring my truck, RV and/or boat with me?

    Many properties are unable to accommodate these larger vehicles. Parking at all rental properties is for automobiles only. Motor homes, boat trailers, jet skis, XL pickup trucks, etc. are not permitted unless otherwise stated specifically in writing.

  6. Can I rent bikes with Sanibel Vacations?

    Unfortunately after Hurricane Ian, we can no longer offer bike, kayak or paddle board rentals through our previous sister company, SBL Outfitters. Similar rentals can be made directly with Billy’s Bikes or Finnimore’s on island.
