Lighthouse Beach Park
If you love historical attractions, check out Lighthouse Beach Park. It’s one of the more popular Sanibel Island beaches because of its functioning archaic lighthouse. Consider a tranquil walk on their boardwalk nature trail or cast a line from the fishing pier. Because Lighthouse Beach Park is so popular, parking can be a bit pricy. However, they do have plenty of bike racks. Rent a bicycle from Sanibel Shop Outfitters and pedal your way around our beautiful island.
Bowman’s Beach
Spanning across 50 acres, Bowman’s Beach is the largest and most remote beach on Sanibel Island. Located on the west side, it’s the only Sanibel Island beach with barbeque grills, so it’s a prime spot for picnics. Plus, there’s a peaceful nature trail for you and your loved ones to meander.
Turner Beach & Blind Pass Beach
The Blind Pass Bridge connects Captiva and Sanibel Islands. While there are beaches on both sides of the bridge, the Captiva side has restrooms and showers, so keep that in mind. These Sanibel Island beaches are excellent spots for shellers, anglers, and surfers. In fact, Turner Beach is one of the best shelling beaches in Florida. However, we’d recommend against swimming here as there are powerful currents nearby, but feel free to lay out a blanket or towel and soak in some sun rays.
